On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency and Deputy Ranking Member on Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to education by engaging with all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates within his constituency.
In a special outreach program, Hon. Bekoe fully sponsored a comprehensive guidance and counselling session for the 2,515 BECE candidates preparing for this year’s examination. In addition, he presented each student with a mathematical set, an essential tool for the exam to support their final preparations.
Addressing the students, Hon. Asiedu Bekoe encouraged them to face the exams with courage, discipline, and confidence. He urged the candidates to believe in their own abilities and avoid any form of examination malpractice.
“I was once like you. Your teachers were once like you. But through hard work, determination, and perseverance, we are here today. You can do it too. Go and make Suhum proud. Make your parents and guardians proud. And most importantly, make yourselves proud,” he said passionately.
The MP also used the opportunity to unveil his long-term educational vision for the Suhum Constituency. He announced plans to establish an Educational Fund focused on two core areas: providing scholarships for brilliant but needy students and promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. He emphasized that this fund would support students who pursue STEM disciplines at the senior high and tertiary levels, describing it as a strategic investment in Suhum’s future.
The candidates, visibly inspired by the MP’s gesture and words of encouragement, expressed their heartfelt gratitude. They pledged to study hard and produce excellent results to uplift the name of Suhum Municipality on the national academic radar.
The event was attended by Suhum NPP Constituency Executives, led by Chairman Frederick Ofosu, as well as several party faithfuls who came to show support for the MP’s educational agenda.
