On Friday, January 9, 2026, the Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, joined the Church of Pentecost, Suhum Area, for the commissioning and official handover of a newly constructed Executive Ward Block to the Suhum Government Hospital.

The facility, built by the Church of Pentecost, is a major boost to healthcare delivery in the municipality. The block comprises six wards with a total bed capacity of 12, two consulting rooms for doctors, two changing rooms for nurses, and two rooms designated for the storage of non-drug medical items. The addition is expected to help ease pressure on the hospital and improve patient care, particularly in terms of accommodation and service delivery.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe expressed his appreciation to the Church of Pentecost for its consistent and practical contribution to community development in Suhum. He acknowledged the leadership of the Church, especially the Suhum Area Head, for prioritizing health infrastructure and supporting the work of the hospital.

The MP noted that the new ward would help address the long-standing challenge of inadequate bed space at the facility and improve healthcare outcomes for residents of Suhum and surrounding communities. He also commended doctors, nurses, administrators, and all health workers at the hospital for their dedication and sacrifice in delivering care under often challenging conditions.

Hon. Asiedu Bekoe used the occasion to call on hospital management and relevant stakeholders to ensure proper maintenance and effective use of the facility for the long-term benefit of the people.

He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for improved health infrastructure, adding that he continues to engage the Minister of Health in Parliament on the urgent need to expand and retool the Accident and Emergency Ward of the hospital.
