Frank Asiedu Bekoe, MP, Joins High-Level Parliamentary Meeting On Human Rights

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Suhum constituency, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, joined his colleagues in a high-level parliamentary meeting on human rights held in Accra.

The meeting brought together Members of Parliament from Ghana, delegations from the House of Commons in the United Kingdom, and the Clerk to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).

The discussions focused on key human rights issues, including prison reforms, free speech, the death penalty, child labour, protection of vulnerable groups, justice delivery systems, and the promotion of democratic values and the rule of law.

Frank Asiedu Bekoe, during my contribution, spoke on the importance of free speech and briefly highlighted Ghana’s position on LGBTQ matters, emphasizing our cultural values and belief in procreation and family systems.

The engagement further reinforced the strong relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom and our shared commitment to democratic governance, human rights, and parliamentary diplomacy.
